This week’s selection of red varietal is Cupcake-Red Velvet from Livermore, CA.
The back of the label reads”This wine shows a heady nose of chocolate, deep rich blackberries, red fruits , and a creamy mocha finish.”
Personally I didn’t taste the chocolate. I did pick up the blackberry and red fruit tastes.
I liked the sweet fruity notes . It did have a slight dry taste but made up for it in the warmth factor I got right away as well as warm after glow.
I enjoyed this wine with a spicy cheese on a stone ground wheat thin cracker.
